Munderbar is the brainchild of Wai Mun Yoon and Patrick Barth, who between them have over 25 years of production experience in delivering multimedia and digital solutions for our clients, from small startups to large corporates. We work extremely closely with our clients to create tangible assets that translate their brand attributes into moving pictures that connect with, and engage their target audience.
We manage all aspects of production, from logistics and scheduling to sourcing the best talent and crew – both locally and internationally – in order to translate creative briefs into successful shoots with maximal positive media coverage for our clients and the brands they represent.
Patrick Barth started his career as a photojournalist, producer and camera man in current affairs. Fluent in five languages, he has spent 17 years travelling extensively on assignments in remote locations and hostile environments for major broadcasters and publishers such as the BBC, CNN, NBC, Channel 4, ITN, The New York Times, The Sunday Times. Patrick has been instrumental on several large corporate sports sponsorship accounts through his long standing working relationship with WPP owned Sports Sponsorship specialist PRISM such as the Red Bull Racing – Infiniti F1 sponsorship, the Shell Ferrari F1 partnership, the British Olympic Association/Team 2012, Olympic Team Allianz, Ford Champions League Sponsorship, Standard Chartered Bank’s Greatest Race on Earth.
Wai Mun Yoon‘s marketing and digital strategy career has been focused on enhancing online brands through innovative technologies and emerging media platforms. As a member of the original management team of LOVEFiLM.com, he was responsible for the branding, launch and development of the LOVEFilM’s website, where the rapid user growth led him to appreciate the importance of big data in creating solutions for the monetisation of audience attention. His understanding of the dynamics of the content industry specifically the customer economics of multi-sided markets led to the creation of Cinelan, which he co-founded with Oscar-nominated documentarian, Morgan Spurlock and Arts Alliance CEO Thomas Hoegh to explore the digital use of syndicated, 3-minute documentary films by famous filmmakers. His expertise in crafting digital strategy for online startups has been tapped by companies as diverse as Blinkbox and The Frontline Club. Wai Mun was educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s and Robinson College, Cambridge University.
Victor Fraile – Chief Photographer, Hong Kong office – started his photo career as a photographer working for surfing magazines in Europe, the UK, Australia and the U.S. Since then he has worked for Reuters and Getty Images covering political, fashion, breaking news and sport assignments including the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 32nd Americas Cup, Volvo Ocean Sailing Race, 49th European Championship ISAF, FINA Swimming World Championship, UEFA Champions League finals, Portugal Euro 2004, various Spain cycling tours, Moto GP, Formula One, ASP Surfing World Championships, Rowing World Championship, ATP Master Series – WTA and Davis Cup tennis tournaments, several PGA & LPGA, European Tour and Golf World Cups. Victor’s photographs have been published in Time, Paris Match, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Newsweek, FIFA magazine, Hello, Stern, Bild, Der Spiegel, Business Week, The Economist, Nature, Quo, Men’s Health magazine, Vanity Fair magazine, Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Surfer Rule, Carve, 3Sesenta, Surf Session, Surf Europe and have featured as the cover of several newspapers.
Raf Sanchez is an editorial and commercial photographer, who leads our project management team in Hong Kong. His editorial images have been published in major newspapers (such as The Financial Times). His travel and lifestyle imagery has been seen in many in-flight magazines (including Air Canada, KLM & Singapore Airlines) and he has been commissioned to provide photography by a wide variety of corporate clients in a diverse number of industries spanning product design, professional services, hotel & spa operators and travel companies. Raf’s first career was as a lawyer in the financial services industry (working for a leading international investment bank) and he ensures that our creative vision is delivered to our Asian clients, on-time and according to brief.
